What to Expect
Mayne Island Resort guests begin their vacation experience the moment they board the BC Ferry. Upon arrival at Mayne Island we recommend you click on our link to get directions to our Resort especially when arriving after nightfall.
If you are taking the ferry without a car, you can take the community shuttle bus service from the ferry terminal to the Mayne Island Resort. Online reservation is needed, at least 24 hours in advance, to ensure service. Fill out the Mayne Island Bus Society’s online scheduler form to reserve: Online Scheduler for Mayne Island Bus Society
Complimentary Parking
Parking is available on site at the Resort. Cottage guests are offered free club cart service and luggage transport from the parking area to their front door. There is parking for Villa guests adjacent to their unit.
Check-In
Check-in is located in the lobby of our century old Mayne Inn. In the event that the reception staff is temporarily away from the front desk, please see the restaurant or beer and wine store staff for quick assistance. You will be requested to have a credit card on file or with you. Check in time is 4:00 PM, although your room may be ready sooner.
Check-out:
Check out time is 11:00 AM.
In the Main Building
Bennett Bay Bistro
The bustling Bistro is a favourite of locals and visitors alike, for its consistently great food and friendly efficient service.

Pool and Fitness
The Pool and Fitness rooms are open daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. You will need you key card to access these areas. No food or drink please.
Ice is available free of charge and on request at the front desk.
Room Cleaning
The hotel rooms are refreshed with clean towels provided every two days or upon request. All accommodations are provided with coffee and tea and amenities. The Villas and Cottages are fully self-contained.
What to Bring
If you wish to utilize the pool facilities, make sure to bring a bathing suit. Walking shoes or boots would also be a good idea if you plan to hike, explore seaside trails or beach-comb. For cottage and villa guests wishing to prepare food, there are three grocery stores on island.
Types of Accommodations
All accommodations are provided with flat-screen TVs and WI-Fi connection. Local telephone calls or calls within the resort can be made from the rooms.
Inn Rooms
Constructed in 1912 the rooms are quaint and cozy. They feature 100 year old original wood flooring with French doors opening to a private oceanfront balcony.
Villas
Newly constructed, the Villas have 650 square feet of interior space plus two outside decks. Positioned at a higher elevation on the property, they have spectacular panoramic ocean views. They are comfortable, self-contained units with living/dining areas, Queen sofabed and spa-inspired bathrooms. The private oceanside decks come with outdoor furniture to relax on and a propane barbecue.
Cottages
Similiar to the Villas in size and design. Their spacious and very private patios provide unobstructed breathtaking views of the seaside panorama. With close proximity to the Oceanside bluff, they are not as suitable for small children.
All Cottages and Villas are fully self-contained including washer / dryer and are outfitted to comfortably accommodate 4 adults. Everything you will need including the corkscrew.
Things to do.
You can enjoy the spectacular views from every room of your suite or outside on you private deck or patio, Rent kayaks at our beach, rent e-bikes and tour the island, hike up Mount Park or just lay back in your room, cottage or villa and listen to the waves break along the beach. Fire up the BBQ provided with Villa and Cottages on your own private covered Oceanside deck. The spa also has a small Gift Shop. Free for guests from 10 am to 9pm is an indoor pool, whirlpool, steam room, exercise facility. The Resort is located minutes away from various artisan galleries, beach combing areas, hiking trails and more. Must sees are the commemorative Japanese Gardens beautiful anytime of the year and our Lighthouse Park. Of Historical interest associated with the Fraser River gold rush of 1858 include the first gulf Island RCMP station, the Gaol building, the oldest operating hotel in BC and our Island Museum in Miner’s Bay. Cancellation Policies.
PREPAYMENT:
50% of the total price will be required when making a reservation.
CANCELLATION:
10% of the total price will be charged if you cancel after making a reservation.
50% of the total price will be charged if you cancel in the 30 days before arrival.
NO SHOW POLICY:
If no show or cancel within 24 hours of the arrival date, you will be charged the total price of the reservation.
